Calcium hydroxide paste is composed of calcium hydroxide with antiseptic properties to be applied in dental root canals.  Generally, in its formulation Barium sulfate is also added, which makes it radiopaque. Calcium hydroxide paste is applicable to remove infections from root canals; moreover, this product may also accelerate the restoration process of periapical damages, however, this product doesn’t have negative impact on periapical seals inside the dental canal.
